Miriam founded the California Institute for Yiddish Culture and Language, an organization which works to raise awareness and spread knowledge of Yiddish. She was also instrumental in the founding of Yiddishkayt in Los Angeles and continues to teach Yiddish at the University of California, Los Angeles.
