Update on the Leve Center’s 2020-2021 Scholarships
Recognizing that the COVID-19 pandemic will likely continue to disrupt students’ plans for travel, research, and study until well into 2021, the Leve Center has made significant adjustments to our scholarship applications process for the 2020-2021 AY. As part of our commitment to supporting undergraduate and graduate students in any way that we can, we have adjusted both the requirements for the applications and the types of proposals we will accept. Our hope is that by tailoring our Fall-Winter scholarships (Deadline Nov. 20, 2020) to the specific needs of students in our current, remote-learning environment, we will be able to offer more financial support for our Spring-Summer cycle in 2021. Information for the Spring-Summer cycle will be available here in early February 2021.
For graduate students we will be accepting proposals for the Maurice Amado Research and Travel Grants and the Bluma Appel Research and Travel Grant for Graduate Students for reimbursements for expenses related to virtual conferences, including (but not limited to): membership dues, application fees, and conference registration costs that happen during the fall or winter quarter. These will be smaller awards, with more limited application requirements, so that we can allocate larger amounts of research and travel funds during our Spring/Summer cycle. Proof of cost of registration/fees must be submitted with application.
